Free Crochet Scrunchie Pattern

Free Crochet Scrunchie Pattern

Are you looking for an easy free crochet scrunchie pattern? Well look no further! At first I wasn’t to sure about the whole scrunchie fad that came about, especially the velvet ones. After some thought I jumped on the velvet scrunchie bandwagon and the rest is history! It is literally the only scrunchie I wear now and I may or may not have one in every color I make!

Now let’s talk about the actual scrunchie itself! I saw a lot of different ways and styles of making them start popping up but I didnt really like any 100%. So I thought let’s try this and whip up one on our own, well I wasn’t disappointed and it worked up super quick!

Materials

Hair tie (I got mine here)

Any yarn you’d like, I used bernat velvet yarn

5.0mm or H crochet hook

Scissors

Tapestry needle

Pattern

I like to put my hair tie over my hook first and then cast onto your hook

You will now be working around the hair tie, start with a slip stitch while holding the tail and working yarn ( I feel it gives it a little extra strength by doing this)

Do 30 half double crochets around the hair tie, when you get to the end slip stitch into the very first half double crochet you made

Chain 2, 2 double crochets into that same stitch, *3 double crochet into next stitch, 2 double crochet stitches into the next stitch* repeat until you have one stitch remaining and work 3 double crochets into the final stitch, slip stitch into ch 2 from beginning, fasten off and weave in ends

You now have your very own scrunchie!

Free Crochet Reusable Water Balloon Pattern

Free Crochet Reusable Water Balloon Pattern

Who doesn’t love a good water balloon fight? I know I do, but I hate having to fill up hundreds of balloons only to have them gone in a matter of minutes and then having to clean up all the little plastic pieces. Reusable water balloons solves all those problems!

Reusable water balloons are eco friendly and are hours fun instead of minutes.

How to use:

  1. soak water balloon in water, can be a bucket or bowl
  2. throw water balloons
  3. repeat steps 1 & 2

It’s that easy!!! the yarn that is used absorbs a lot of water making them an excellent replacement for regular water balloons and they work up really quick!

Easy Crochet Headband Pattern

Easy Crochet Headband Pattern
I just did a farmers market and had a lot of people ask for headbands/ear warmers. So I went to pinterest looking for a quick and easy pattern, however, I did not like any of them! So I decided to make my own! I grabbed my Lion Brand Wool-ease Thick and Quick and got to work! This headband I designed works up super quick l, like 20 minutes quick, and one skein makes 3!!!! Materials 6.5mm or K hook 1 skein of lion brand wool-ease thick and quick or similar weight 6 yarn Tapestry needle Pattern Row 1: Ch 9, Hdc in 2nd ch from the hook and across, ch 1 turn (8sts) Next rows will be worked in the back loop only! Row 2-30: Hdc in each st across ch 1 turn At the end of the row just slip stitch to Row 1 and sew in the ends! The great thing about this is that it’s so simple and you can easily add a bow or leave a long tail and wrap it around to give it a cinched center! Cross My Heart Baby Blanket

Cross My Heart Baby Blanket

I can’t figure out who it was that posted a while ago on Instagram, using Premier Parfait Yarn, but since then I needed to get my hands on some. A few weeks went by and I got completely lost in life and the need for the yarn. Then is happened I was strolling through my local AC Moore and there is was and on sale!!!!! So, I grabbed a few cakes in the color Limeade and the wheels started turning. How could I take the amazing softness of this yarn and make it into something simple yet amazing? After some time I came up with my Cross My Heart Baby Blanket.

I tried to figure out a good pattern where the colors of the cake transition perfectly from row to row, it did so for the first cake used, but by the second I had to start cutting the yarn and switching colors as needed. For this pattern I started with the chain i did for a blanket that would be about _____ inches wide, but feel free to make changes as you see fit with the starting chain. Now lets dive right into the Cross My Heart Baby Blanket pattern!

Materials

*Crochet Hook Size I or 5.5mm

*Bulky weight yarn (size 5) I used Premier Parfait yarn

(used 2 cakes for a “baby” size)

Abbreviations

*Ch: chain

*Hdc: half double crochet

*Tr: treble crochet

*Dc: double crochet

X-Stitch Yarn or twice, insert yarn into hdc of previous row, yarn over pull throw (you should now have 4 loops on the hook), yarn over pull through 2 loops, yarn over skip next stitch in previous row and insert hook into next stitch, yarn over pull through (4 loops on hook again) yarn over pull through 2 loops, yarn over pull trhough 2 more loops, yarn over pull through next 2, yarn over pull through last 2, yarn over and insert hook between the two “legs” you just made, yarn over and pull through (3 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through 2 loops, yarn over pull through remaining loops Having issues visit my how to video HERE

Pattern

Ch 98, hdc in 2nd ch from the hook and across (you should have 97 hdc stitches)

Ch 4 (we will now be working on the X stitch row), make a X stitch across the entire row, tr in last stitch Ch 1 hdc in each stitch of the X stitch plus one in between each of the X’s in the row (just make a note that the ch 1 does not count as a stitch so you will want to make a hdc in the same stitch as the ch 1) I kept repeating until I had one color left in the second cake of yarn (forgot to measure the blanket I’ll update size when I make another!) I decide on just a super simple border of half double crochets, but feel free to add any style of border you want! I’d love to see your finished creations and please credit me either linking back to this pattern or tag me on Instagram @misscrazyhandmade Happy Hooking Everyone!!!!
