Cross My Heart Baby Blanket

Cross My Heart Baby Blanket

I can’t figure out who it was that posted a while ago on Instagram, using Premier Parfait Yarn, but since then I needed to get my hands on some. A few weeks went by and I got completely lost in life and the need for the yarn. Then is happened I was strolling through my local AC Moore and there is was and on sale!!!!! So, I grabbed a few cakes in the color Limeade and the wheels started turning. How could I take the amazing softness of this yarn and make it into something simple yet amazing? After some time I came up with my Cross My Heart Baby Blanket.

I tried to figure out a good pattern where the colors of the cake transition perfectly from row to row, it did so for the first cake used, but by the second I had to start cutting the yarn and switching colors as needed. For this pattern I started with the chain i did for a blanket that would be about _____ inches wide, but feel free to make changes as you see fit with the starting chain. Now lets dive right into the Cross My Heart Baby Blanket pattern!

Materials

*Crochet Hook Size I or 5.5mm

*Bulky weight yarn (size 5) I used Premier Parfait yarn

(used 2 cakes for a “baby” size)

Abbreviations

*Ch: chain

*Hdc: half double crochet

*Tr: treble crochet

*Dc: double crochet

X-Stitch Yarn or twice, insert yarn into hdc of previous row, yarn over pull throw (you should now have 4 loops on the hook), yarn over pull through 2 loops, yarn over skip next stitch in previous row and insert hook into next stitch, yarn over pull through (4 loops on hook again) yarn over pull through 2 loops, yarn over pull trhough 2 more loops, yarn over pull through next 2, yarn over pull through last 2, yarn over and insert hook between the two “legs” you just made, yarn over and pull through (3 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through 2 loops, yarn over pull through remaining loops Having issues visit my how to video HERE

Pattern

Ch 98, hdc in 2nd ch from the hook and across (you should have 97 hdc stitches)

Ch 4 (we will now be working on the X stitch row), make a X stitch across the entire row, tr in last stitch Ch 1 hdc in each stitch of the X stitch plus one in between each of the X’s in the row (just make a note that the ch 1 does not count as a stitch so you will want to make a hdc in the same stitch as the ch 1) I kept repeating until I had one color left in the second cake of yarn (forgot to measure the blanket I’ll update size when I make another!) I decide on just a super simple border of half double crochets, but feel free to add any style of border you want!
