I have been busy preparing for an upcoming festival, but just had to post this pattern for you guys! I finally got around to making a crochet ribbed beanie and it was super easy! So far I only have the pattern out for an average adult size beanie, but I’m working on other sizes!

Now on to the pattern!

Materials:

-Red Heart Soft Essentials Yarn

-Size K 6.5mm crochet hook

-scissors

-tapestry needle

-pom-pom if you’d like to add one

Dimensions:

7″ x 8″ folded

Abbreviations:

ch- chain

hdc: half double crochet

st: stitch

Pattern Notes:

worked in rows

Crochet Ribbed Beanie

Ch 42

Row 1: HDC in 3rd ch from the hook and across, ch 1

Row 2-34: HDC in each st across, ch 1

Leave a long tail to sew 2 out of the 3 ends

Begin by stitching the beginning chain to the last row ( the ribbing will be vertical )

Once then ends are sewn together you will now be closing one of the open ends (see photo) fasten off and weave in ends

At this point you can add a pom-pom or leave it as a basic beanie

(for other sizes, add or decrease the starting chain as well as the amount of rows)

‎I cracked up when I saw one of these crochet F-bombs and had to try my hand at making one! I made it as a gift for a co-worker (my dog ended up stealing it) but I wrote up the pattern and decided to post it for FREE! So enjoy my crochet F-bomb free pattern and tag me in photos of your creations!

Method Crochet

Skill Level Easy

Hook F/3.50 MM

Yarn Weight 4 (black, gray, red)

Final Size 4″ tall 4″ wide

Note: Worked in the round

Abbreviations

Sc: single crochet

BLO: back loops only

Inc: increase

Dec: decrease

Pattern

1. 6 sc in magic ring (6sts)

2. inc around (12sts)

3. *sc 1, Inc 1,* rep 6 times (18sts)

4. *sc 2, Inc 1,* rep 6 times (24sts)

5. *sc 3, Inc 1,* rep 6 times (30sts)

6. *sc 4, Inc 1,* rep 6 times (36sts)

7. *sc 5, inc 1,* repeat 6 times (42sts)

8. *sc 6, inc 1,* repeat 6 times (48sts)

9-13. sc 48

14. * sc 6, dec 1* repeat 6 times (42 sts)

15. * sc 5, dec 1* repeat 6 times (36 sts)

Begin stuffing

19. * sc 1, dec 1* repeat 6 times (12 sts)

Change to gray

20. Sc 12 around in BLO

21-22. Sc 12 round (add more stuffing)

23. *dec1* repeat 6 times (6sts)

DO NOT fasten off!!!

chain 10, single crochet in 2nd chain from the hook and down the chain

Fasten off and weave in ends

Letter F

Using color of your choice

Ch 11 sc in 2nd chain from the hook and across, ch 1 turn work (10 sts)

Sc in each stitch across, ch 1 turn (10 sts)

Sc in next 3, ch 1 turn (3 sts)

Sc in next 3 stitches (repeat until you’ve completed your 5th row of 3 single crochets

Turn work so you are working on the side with the unworked stitches and slip stitch down to those stitches. Once you grey to the unworked stitches from the 2nd row slip st in the next 2 and chain 1, single crochet in same stitch and the next, ch 1 turn

Sc in next 2 stitches ch 1 turn

Repeat until you have 3 rows and your F is finished!

Crochet Kawaii Cactus Free Pattern

If you’re like me and love plants but don’t have a green thumb, then this is the pattern for you! This little crochet kawaii cactus will make the perfect addition to your desk or book shelf!

Super simple pattern and works up quickly.

Materials

2.75mm hook (you can use larger but remember it will also make the cactus larger so you may need a bigger pot)

Worsted weight yarn in color of your choosing (I used caron simply soft in )

Small amount of black embroidery floss

Tapestry needle

6mm safety eyes

Small pot (pot that fits the size you decide to make)

Abbreviations

Hdc half double crochet

BLO back loop only

Pattern

Chain 22 leaving a long beginning

HDC in 3rd chain from the hook and across ch1 (20 sts)

HDC in BLO , ch1

Repeat until you have 20 rows and leave a long tail to sew ends closed (should look like a rectangle when finished)

Use the beginning strand to stitch the 2 ends together, making sure you continue to ribbed look

Now using the other strand you will be closing up one of the ends (pull tight to close)

at this point you want to place the safety eyes about 11 sts up from the unclosed end and about 3 rows apart
stuff and sew open end closed

Flower

In magic ring

ch 2 dc 3 times ch 2 sl st into magic ring, repeat 2 more times

attach flower to top of cactus and you are finished!

I know its been a while since I’ve posted anything so why not start off with a bang and post an amazing free pattern! Do you love Groot as much as I do and wish you could make one of your own? Well, problem solved, below is a super easy and Free Groot Crochet Pattern, so you can make one of your own or a small army!

Free Groot Crochet Pattern

        

Materials/Supplies
  • 5mm or E sized hook
  • Worsted weight
    • Beige
    • Small amount of green
    • Small amount of dark brown
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry or yarn needle
  • Stuffing of your choice
  • 12mm safety eyes
  • Embroidery floss in black
Difficulty level: Easy  
Abbreviations
  • Ch- chain
  • Sc- single crochet
  • St- stitch
  • Sl st- slip stitch
  • Dec- decrease

Finished Dimensions: Groot will measure ~5 inches tall, but size depends on yarn and hook size used.

Pattern Notes: Pattern is worked in continuous rounds, so feel free to use a stitch marker at the beginning of each round if you feel as though you may lose your place. Pattern is worked from the bottom up.

Starting with legs and worked up to head


Legs (x2)

Row 1: 6 sc in Magic Ring (6 sts)

Fasten off and make a second leg DO NOT FASTEN OFF ON 2ND LEG!!!!!

(a whole might be left where you joined the two legs you can stitch it together now or wait until you are finished)

Row 41:*dec 1* repeat 6 times (6 sts)

Fasten off and weave in ends

Arms (x2)

Row 1: 4 sc in a Magic Ring

Row 2: 2 sc in each st around (8 sts)

Row 3:*sc 1, 2 sc in next sc* repeat 4 times (12 sts)

Row 4: sc 12

Row 5: *sc4, dec 1* repeat 2 times (10 sts)

Row 6: sc 10

Start stuffing

Row 7: *sc 3, dec 1* repeat 2 times (8 sts)

Row 8: sc 8

Continue stuffing

Row 9: *sc2, dec 1* repeat 2 times (6)

Row 10: sc 6

Fasten off and leave tail to sew onto body and sew arms onto body.

 

“Hair”

Insert hook into the ridge you created in Row 35 sl st to attach. 

This is how I did the “hair” but feel free to change it up! Along ridge *sc, sl st in next st, sl st into next and ch 2 followed by 1 sc in second ch from hook, sl st into nxt st, , sl st into next and ch 3  followed by 1 sc in second ch from hook and to end of ch, sl st into nxt st, , sl st into next and ch 4  followed by 1 sc in second ch from hook and to end of ch* repeat around the entire ridge until you get back to beginning of row. 

Finishing

Using dark brown stitch mouth on

Using green stitch vines in pattern around body (I added some simple leaves) and in “hair” and you are finished!!
